Edit the PDF after you download it
This is not a screenshot and it is not a flattened printout. Each data cell is a standard PDF form field containing the value from Excel, so you can click it, replace the text and save the changed PDF in a compatible reader.
Headers stay locked by default
The first row remains ordinary PDF content, which protects column names from accidental edits. If your workbook has two or three header rows, change the header count. If it has none, switch the lock off and make every cell editable.
The spreadsheet still looks like your spreadsheet
Fills, font styling, merged cells, widths, row heights, orientation, paper size and page breaks all use the same layout engine as the main converter. Editable fields are fitted to those exact cell rectangles.

The output uses standard AcroForm fields rather than a proprietary format. Adobe Acrobat and Reader, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Apple Preview can display and edit them without access to the original Excel file.

Frequently asked questions
How do I create an editable PDF from Excel?
Upload your workbook to the tool above, decide how many header rows should stay locked, check the page preview and click Download editable PDF. The tool replaces each printable data cell with a pre-filled PDF text field, so its value can be changed after download without reopening Excel.
What does editable PDF mean here?
It means the cell values are editable form fields inside the PDF. You can change those values and save the filled PDF. It does not mean you can redesign the document, move columns or edit colours inside a PDF reader; use Excel for structural changes and export again.
Is this different from a fillable PDF form?
Yes. This tool makes every data cell editable and pre-fills it with the current Excel value, which suits tables and documents that need later corrections. The fillable-form builder instead detects selected blank input areas, dropdowns and checkboxes in a form template.
Which PDF apps can edit the result?
Standard AcroForm support is available in Adobe Acrobat and Reader, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Apple Preview. Exact save behaviour depends on the reader, so for important workflows Adobe Acrobat Reader is the safest choice.
Can I keep some Excel rows non-editable?
Yes. Turn on Keep header rows locked and set the number of header rows in the page settings. Those rows are drawn as fixed PDF content; cells below them become editable. Individual-cell locking is not currently available.
Will formulas keep calculating in the PDF?
No. The current displayed result of each Excel formula becomes the starting text in its PDF field, but PDF fields do not inherit Excel formulas, references or recalculation. Change the workbook and export again when calculations must update.
Why is there a 1,500-cell limit?
Every editable cell is a separate PDF form widget. Very large numbers of widgets make common PDF readers slow or unstable, so the tool caps editable fields at 1,500. For large data exports, use the standard Excel-to-PDF converter instead.
Is my Excel file uploaded?
No. The file is parsed and converted by JavaScript in your browser. Its spreadsheet data is not sent to this site or stored on a server.
